Overnight construction activity forecast, but not the noise, prompting neighbors' complaints: "what I wouldn't do for a good nights sleep"
As I wrote 3/29/16, quoting the latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update, delivery and installation of the LIRR Employee Building was expected to take place during overnight hours, with setting of the sections during the day, but [i]nstallation of the substation equipment may require overnight, extended weekday work hours, and/or weekend hours to complete."
They left something out: how loud it would be.
As noted in the Instagram post below, there were five separate 311 complaints from a neighboring building. A look at those 311 complaints shows most were quickly dismissed.
I'm not sure from the above service request, that "police action was not necessary" simply because the construction company had a permit and/or the police do not enforce certain noise complaints, or that the complaint was filed--or the response came--after the work at hand.
The bottom line: there's insufficient real-time monitoring and response for affected neighbors.
