Waiting for Streisand: the Barclays Center, now featuring tents

Apparently aiming to protect Barbra Streisand concert attendees tonight from the elements, Barclays Center operators have put up tents for those waiting on line to get in. (There's no rain tonight, but it will get chilly.)

I thought the acoustics last night were very good. Barbra's voice was clear and strong. It was a good show. I thought her son was ok(the whole thing was on the shmaltzie side)...and wished they had done a little more with the Brooklyn Children's chorus...

It is a real shame to destroy the cool looking architecture with these ugly plastic tents. The facility team in charge of the place really should try a little harder to provide functionality without resorting to the easiest and ugliest solution. Try asking the original designers to come up with a better solution. Shameful to see that grand entrance occupied by that ugly tent! That singlehandedly kills any support or enthusiasm the arena might have received from the architecture.
