Next (virtual) Quality of Life meeting will be held July 21; no indication yet of improved protocols

A message from Empire State Development indicates that, as expected, the next Quality of Life meeting, to be held at 6 pm on Tuesday, July 21, will again be virtual.

Those interested may send Project related questions and suggested agenda items to AtlanticYards@esd.ny.gov. (I'll propose some in a later post.)

Here's the Zoom link. Dial In: +16465588656, 95410211649. Meeting ID: 95410211649.

There's no indication yet of an agenda, nor of any improved procedures, following criticism of the first such virtual Quality of Life meeting, held 6/9/20.

As I wrote, ESD failed to share an agenda for the meeting, which was previously standard practice, or any information about planned protocol. For example, we didn't know it was going to be audio-only. Based on criticisms, I recommended:
  • unmuting participants so they can speak, when called on, and thus ask follow-up questions
  • showing who's present
  • making the questions public in the chat, so we could see if they'd been answered
  • providing that agenda
Also, would it so hard to post the meeting presentation(s) publicly before the event, so we had a chance to assess new information?
