Dean Street and Sixth Avenue next to arena closed Saturday/Sunday for crane disassembly

As stated in the COMMUNITY NOTICE circulated today by Empire State Development, as part of the construction for the Barclays Center's green roof, a construction crane located at the northwest corner of Dean Street and 6th Avenue will be disassembled, requiring intermittent closures Saturday (beginning 6 am) and Sunday (until 9 pm) of:
  • Dean Street, between Flatbush and Sixth Avenues
  • Sixth Avenue, between Pacific and Bergen Streets
That means temporary detours for vehicles, pedestrians, buses and bicycles, as noted in the graphic below. Traffic Enforcement Agents and Variable Message Signs will help direct people.

Sidewalks in work zone areas will remain open only to residents and visitors of affected blocks. Dean Street between Sixth and Carlton Avenues is only open for local traffic.
