Not isolated incidents: via Atlantic Yards Watch, more trucks seen to leave project site with material uncovered
Though the Empire State Development Corporation on July 22 suggested that a truck leaving the Atlantic Yards site with its contents uncovered was an "isolated incident," the evidence, thanks to Atlantic Yards Watch, continues to mount that it wasn't.
All instances seem to violate the December 2009 Amended Memorandum of Environmental Commitments, a contract in which Forest City Ratner "shall require its contractors to implement dust suppression measures, including:
On July 25, I wrote about how there appear to have been three additional violations that previous week week.
On July 26, I cited three additional episodes over the course of two days.
The latest
Yesterday, two more instances were posted on Atlantic Yards Watch.
The first occurred at 2:11 pm.
The second occurred at 2:37 pm.
All instances seem to violate the December 2009 Amended Memorandum of Environmental Commitments, a contract in which Forest City Ratner "shall require its contractors to implement dust suppression measures, including:
(vi) Covering all trucks carrying loose material such as debris, excavate or fill, and verifying that covers on all such trucks have been properly sealed. Outgoing trucks shall be inspected at the gate, and not allowed to exit if covers are not properly sealed.No response from the state has yet emerged.
