Brooklyn Crossing, according to press release, now leasing, as developers talk up "affordable housing" (which is not yet available & not that affordable)

The Brooklyn Daily Eagle on 1/4/22 offered the unbylined (credited to "staff") Leasing begins at 51-story Brooklyn Crossing in Prospect Heights, clearly just the developer's press release:
The Brodsky Organization and Greenland USA announced on Tuesday the launch of leasing at Brooklyn Crossing, the latest development within the mixed-use development project Pacific Park in Prospect Heights.

Located at 18 Sixth Ave., the 51-story residential building offers 858 new units of mixed-income housing, 258 of which are set aside for affordable housing, ranging from studios to one- to three-bedroom apartments. Retail space occupies the building’s ground floor.
Except leasing actually began last month, as I reported.

Pumping affordable housing

From the article/press release:
“It’s an exciting time in the market as we launch leasing of another remarkable building in Pacific Park, bringing 258 units of dedicated affordable housing to the Prospect Heights neighborhood,” said Alexander Brodsky of the Brodsky Organization.

Except the affordable housing isn't available yet for applicants on the city's Housing Connect portal, and won't be leased until at least three months after that.

From the article:

“Brooklyn Crossing is Pacific Park’s most ambitious residential building to date and underlines our commitment to delivering affordable housing right in the heart of Brooklyn,” said Scott Solish, executive vice president of development of Greenland USA. “Brooklyn Crossing is another critical milestone at Pacific Park, Brooklyn.”
Their commitment to affordable housing does not yet include any details about the affordable housing, but evidence shows it will be for middle-income households, with income limits in the six figures.

And more

On 1/5/22, 6sqft offered Leasing begins at 51-story Brooklyn Crossing, Pacific Park’s largest building, similarly reposting the press release.

The transposition of this press release included this additional line, "As of today, the developers have not announced specific income restrictions for the affordable units." That's myopic, but at least it's better than the other two publications.
