Barclays Center releases December 2021 event calendar: 12 events, mostly Nets games

The Barclays Center has released its December 2021 calendar of events: eight Brooklyn Nets games, two concerts, one college basketball event (four games in a day), and one comedy show.

Those 12 events contrast with the 19 announced events in December 2019, listed at bottom. The Strokes are again playing a New Year's Eve show.

Note that a scheduled Genesis concert was canceled, as the band in October had to cancel UK tour dates because of COVID-19.

The announcement noted that "there will be amplified sound on the Plaza associated with" the Nets game tomorrow, with doors opening at 6 pm.

The arena announcement contained a remainder that they are still hiring vaccinated individuals for a variety of jobs, with a special employee sweepstakes--with cash and other prizes--for all non-management staff, ending Dec. 31, 2021.

December 2019

Below is the calendar for December 2019, which had more concerts and college basketball, and fewer Nets games.

Public events, or not

A few of those 2019 events were not easily open to the public. There were no tickets on sale (when I wrote) for LIU basketball, though the LIU web site said the were available on game day at the arena or by calling the university.

Nor were there tickets for the Kyrie Irving Invitational, a high school tournament also held in 2018, but they were available via an app. Irving now is sidelined, and there's no evidence a 2021 tournament is scheduled.

That said, there may be events at Barclays that are not announced, or with tickets sold to the general public. While the November 2021 calendar did not list any events for Sunday, Nov. 28, this article suggests there was a high school basketball tournament that day.
