From the latest Construction Update: signal structures at the railyard being installed

The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, Sept. 17, was circulated at 10:23 am yesterday (late) by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners. Except, um, they mistakenly sent the previous document from two weeks ago. After being alerted, they sent the updated document at 3:20 pm.
Scaffolding on a "bump" building

There are few changes from the previous update, notably planned installation of signal structures in Block 1120--the railyard block between Sixth and Carlton avenues and Pacific Street and Atlantic Avenue--using an excavator.

The erection of scaffolding will continue on 728 Atlantic and 700 Atlantic--the two building on Block 1120 that "bump" into the railyard from Atlantic Avenue.

The demolition work at Block 1120 could commence upon receipt of Department of Buildings and Department of Transportation permits, the update says, as in 59 previous updates. A community notice will be distributed.

At the towers

At 535 Carlton Avenue, tenant fit out work in ground floor retail space will be ongoing, and a boom lift will again be used to complete minor exterior repairs. There is signage that BKLYN CLAY is coming. (See photo below right)

BKLYN CLAY is coming
At 550 Vanderbilt Avenue, "Tenant fit out work in ground floor retail space may commence during this period." It was supposed to potentially start two periods ago.

At the East Portal and railyard

Demolition of the East Portal structure at the railyard near Vanderbilt Avenue is expected to begin (as it said in the previous two updates) by the developer for LIRR during this reporting period. The demolition will be occurring on Atlantic Avenue within the East Portal MPT limits. Appropriate noise and dust mitigation measures are said be in place during the demolition activity.

At the Vanderbilt Yard, weekend (daytime) electrical utility installations are expected to continue in the yard and in the tunnel. LIRR will be utilizing a portion of the yard lighting near the Atlantic Avenue LIRR Access Ramp for security reasons. This is expected to continue through September.
