Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park infographics: what's built/what's coming/what's missing, who's responsible, + project FAQ/timeline (pinned post)

OK, now Sunday work is planned at both tower sites on Sixth Avenue, with 18 Sixth (not disclosed by developer/state) joining 662 Pacific

I was a little too generous, it turns out.

wrote 2/21/21 that the most recent Construction Update, covering the two weeks beginning the next day, mostly continued the belated practice of accuracy regarding after-hours variances (AHVs), with one exception. (The document is circulated by Empire State Development after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners.)

However, there was one inaccuracy--and now another one, both of which obscure the extent of after-hours work.

At the B4 tower (18 Sixth Ave.), weekday hours, including AHVs, were stated as being from 6 am to 10 pm, with Saturday work from 9 am to 5 pm. However, as I showed in a screenshot, the developer and construction company actually had an AHV to start weekday work at 5 am.

"Saturday permits, when received, are for all work starting at 9 am until 5 pm," the document said, with no reference to Sunday work.

Turns out that B4 this weekend and next has since gained permits for Sunday work 9 am to 5 pm, for the first time in a while, as shown in the screenshot at right. The date of issuance was 3/3/21.

Lack of notice

That should've been noticed--either in the Construction Update or a supplement to the document, since that two-week look-ahead covers the two weekends and residents nearby just might want that information while making plans.

(Yes, they might now fold it into the Construction Update for work starting Monday 3/8/21, which might be issued later today. But that would still be late.)

Sunday work was acknowledged--and has been permitted--for the catercorner (more or less) B15 tower, 662 Pacific Street. "Saturday and Sunday permits, when received, are for all work starting at 9 am until 5 pm," the document said accurately.
