From the latest Construction Update: overnight railyard work again expected; concrete work starts at B12/B13; after-hours permits again not disclosed
The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, 3/8/21, was circulated yesterday at 4:55 pm (lead time) by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners.
The only work indicated as new, in red type, is at the B12/B13 site on Dean Street:
The B4 tower (18 Sixth Ave.) is similarly--but wrongly--said to have After-Hours Variances to allow weekday work from 6 am to 10 pm, and on Saturdays from 9 am until 5 pm, according to the document.
Concrete Superstructure work for selected portions of the plaza, cellar and subcellar levels to commence including delivery of materials (formwork, rebar, concrete, etc.).
The number of trucks is not mentioned.
Notably, the potentially disruptive track work previously announced for the two blocks of the Vanderbilt Yard has been extended again, apparently for the next three weekends, starting at 9 pm Friday and finishiong by 4 am Monday, and may require the use of portable light towers.After-hours work: accurate for B15, not for B4
As I've written, there's been a pattern of not disclosing the full scope of After-Hours Variances (AHVs), one that was finally improved upon four weeks ago, with backsliding two weeks ago. Well, they're continuing to backslide.
The B15 tower (662 Pacific St.) is said--accurately--to have After-Hours Variances to allow weekday work from 6 am to 10 pm, and on Saturday and Sunday from 9 am until 5 pm, according to the document.
The reality, as I reported yesterday, is that the B4 tower has permits for Sunday work this Sunday and next.
Also, as I learned upon checking the Department of Buildings' web site, weekday work can start at 5 am, not 6 am, as shown at right.
Note that two Updates ago they got it right, then shifted back to claiming 6 am.
