Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park infographics: what's built/what's coming/what's missing, who's responsible, + project FAQ/timeline (pinned post)

An revamped infographic/map of Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park notes progress, big gaps, and question marks

Graphic Designer Ben Keel since 2017 has produced, in collaboration with me, a master infographic that both sketches what's expected/approved at Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park, as well a project progress.

Previous version
We've regularly updated that graphic (at right and also the second image below), but recently concluded that it required a revamp to better convey information.

So instead of reporting current progress--both completed and under-construction projects--as a smaller inset, the revamp (below) twins Current Progress and Approved Plans.

That conveys that a significant amount of construction has occurred or is under way, yet seven large buildings and a two-block deck over the Vanderbilt Yard remain to be built.

What's missing

There's a lot in each graphic, but it's impossible to convey all the crucial information. Notably, it doesn't convey the actual affordability (low-, moderate-, and middle-income) of the income-linked units, nor how that compares to the original promises and projections.

My spreadsheet below is a start, but it's not an effective graphic. Stay tuned for more.

  1. great graphic, super informative. is there a higher resolution version which could be shared? it's somewhat difficult to make out all of the text in a legible way.
