From the latest Construction Update: overnight concrete pour at B4 site starts 10 pm *tonight*, continues to 6 pm Saturday, with staging and washout on Pacific Street (not B12?)
The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, Sept. 30 was circulated yesterday at 5:50 pm by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners.
Why such lead time for a document that was introduced in the accompanying email as, "Attached for your information is the September 30, 2019 Atlantic Yards Project construction activity update."
Well, maybe because they're backhandedly announcing new, disruptive work tonight at the B4 site at the northeast corner of the arena block. There should have been a separate announcement as an update to the previous Construction Update.
In other words, while this is an improvement over previous episodes in which the community never got notice of certain work, that's a low bar.
The announcement:
Continued after-hours work
Work at two building sites continues, and excavation work is expected to continue on Saturday at the B15 (664 Pacific Street) and B4 (18 Sixth Ave.) sites from 9 am through 5 pm, through the end of the year.
At the Vanderbilt Yard, "Contractor plans to work second shift to excavate and install necessary TMSC (train toilet servicing cleanouts) between 6 pm and 3 am," according to the notice.
Saturday daytime electrical utility installations, site restoration, and work that requires LIRR track outages are expected to continue in the railyard.
At the railyard, the LIRR may be utilizing portions of the yard lighting for security reasons. That's "expected to continue for the next several weeks." That could continue for a while.

The announcement:
A significant foundation pour is scheduled for Friday, September 27th, in the evening and will last through Saturday. Work will begin at about 10pm on Friday evening and continue through Saturday. Concrete trucks will stage along Atlantic Avenue outside of Barclays Center and then use the Pacific Street queue area for washout. Beginning at around 9am, all remaining concrete trucks arriving at the site will begin staging on Pacific Street, moving towards the B4 site before returning to Pacific Street for washout in coordination with an event at Barclays Center. All work should conclude by 6pm on Saturday. What's unclear here is whether the "Pacific Street queue area" will be limited to Pacific Street between Carlton and Vanderbilt avenues or, as was highlighted in recent complaints to ESD, the B12 site closer to Dean Street. It's also unclear whether any steps will be taken to tamp down noise.
