Newsday's Jim Baumbach yesterday reported, Brett Yormark: Won’t change Barclays Center to try to keep Islanders.
Essentially NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said it was unlikely, but that Barclays could “change the configuration and rebuild” to improve the hockey experience.
“We always welcome constructive dialogue regarding optimizing the player and fan experience at Barclays Center,” responded arena CEO Brett Yormark. “However, we have no appetite to make any significant design changes to Barclays Center.”
Indeed, moving the scoreboard or changing the seating would be costly and perhaps logistically impossible. But does that rule out another point of contention: changing the icemaking system?
