Barclays Center releases June 2017 calendar; no private events listed (despite claim "all June events")
The Barclays Center has released to neighbors its June 2017 calendar, below.
There are eight publicly ticketed events, including six concerts, the NBA draft, and a 3-on-3 basketball tournament. That compares with six publicly ticketed events in June 2016, bottom, including four concerts, the NBA draft, and a boxing event.
Curiously, despite a statement in the Community Notice that the listing is "of all June events," non-public events this month like graduations (there are at least three, on June 5 and June 8) and the June 11 protest of the Israeli draft--which has raised concerns about crowds using buses--are not included.
Until last year, the arena did list non-public events, as well as the size of expected crowds, which makes sense, since it gave guidance to neighbors about possible disruptions. Thus the less transparent new "Barclays Center Cares" platform might be seen as "Orwellian, almost."
