Around Barclays Center, illegal parking and idling persists, despite pledge to crack down; meeting tonight

Just in time for tonight's Atlantic Yards Quality of Life Committee meeting, some reports on Atlantic Yards Watch from last night's Nets game suggest the problem around the Barclays Center is "same as it ever was," despite a pledge by the New York Police Department to crack down on illegal parking and idling.

Some excerpts are below.

Three limo/buses are blocking traffic, and the drivers are having a tailgate party, in the northbound turning lane and the bike lane on Dean Street at Vanderbilt Avenue. Two of three are idling.
The buses are associated with one company: Red Carpet Coach. They have come to the arena to drive Jewish groups associated with a Hanukkah celebration of some form during half-time. They said the arena told them to stay nearby, but they were not told about the free standing area on Atlantic Avenue between 6th Avenue and Carlton.
According to a neighbor they have been there for 2 hours. I asked them to leave and they said they would in 1/2 hour. When I told them I was going to call 311 they were unconcerned. They said a number of police cars had already driven by without taking notice.
