Barclays Center still advertising jobs in arena operations; pay mostly not listed; company in charge requires vaccination (unlike with food-service jobs)

Beyond the dozens of jobs, mostly part-time, listed for the Barclays Center food service by Levy Restaurants, cited yesterday, arena operator ASM Global, a major venue and event managment company, lists eight job titles, with four of them part-time and presumably with multiple openings.

Unlike with the Levy jobs, these (with one exception) do not have wages attached, though presumably the union scale will be made clear to applicants. (In August 2021, the arena operator listed eight part-time job positions and one full-time.)

Also, unlike with the Levy jobs, which stated that a COVID-19 vaccination "may" be required, in this case, "ASM Global requires that all individuals, subject to certain limited exceptions, be fully vaccinated against COVID-19." Perplexing.

Notably, the jobs, including the part-time ones, require a flexible schedule to accomodate events on evenings and weekends. 

That is understandable but also a challenge, because the arena adds (and sometimes drops/reschedules) events on a non-standard schedule. And even if workers are expected to be available on weekends, that doesn't mean that work is always available.

Part-time jobs

Below are the current part-time listings, with excerpts from the blurbs.

Administrative Services Assistant; must be available to work at least three days and evening events per week; including all events on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and Holidays.

Usher/Ticket Taker; must be available to work at least 75% of events per month; including all events on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Holidays. (Approximately 24 at maximum.) 

Security Officer; minimum availability requirement: Fridays after 5 pm, all day Saturday and Sunday and one day during the week..

Guest Services Supervisor; must be available to work at least five (5) evening events per week; including all events on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Holidays may be included ($24/hour).

Full-time jobs

Guest Services Coordinator; Must work long irregular hours for an extended period of time dictated by event schedule (weekends and holidays included).

A/V Technical Engineer; in any given day, the Senior AV Technical Engineer may be required to lead a full-time AV Technical Engineer, non-union part-time staff, and union technical crew.

Building Engineer; must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary. 

Assistant Manager, Event Services; must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays when necessary.
