From the latest Construction Update: platform work is supposed to start soon (June, right?), but permits required first

The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, May 16, was circulated Friday at 12:04 pm (lead time) by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners (GFCP), which is dominated by Greenland USA.

There's no new work--hence nothing in red type in the document below, though some previous utility work has apparently finished.

But the essential message is hurry up and wait. Though I wrote two weeks ago that work on the Block 1120 platform--between Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Street, and Carlton and Vanderbilt avenues--was supposed to start within the two-week period, that was subject to the receipt of necessary permits.

And the new document similarly says that such work would start, subject to permits, we learned at a North Prospect Heights Association meeting (and then the Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Quality of Life meeting) that the work won't start until June.

Utility work pending/continuing

Also, utility work is both continuing and pending at the southeast block of the site. As previously predicted multiple times, Con Ed may be on site to install interconnection feeder cables between vaults.

RCN is yet again expected to pull new fiber optic cables on Dean Street, but the exact start time / date and duration for this work has not yet been confirmed

After-hours work continues; some claims fuzzy

Regarding after-hours work at B4 (18 Sixth Ave.), the Construction Update accurately lists weekday work 5 am to 10 pm. Saturday work is listed accurately as 9 am to 5 pm. Sunday work can be the same hours, but there are no after-hours variances yet.

Regarding after-hours work at B12 & B13 on the southeast block, the document, as in the past, states weekday work hours are 6 am to 6 pm, which requires a permit for after-hours work from 6 am to 7 am. It also says "Saturday work from 9 AM – 5 PM will continue."

Well, there's are no current variances listed, and none have been granted since 4/23/22. Are the developers--in this case, TF Cornerstone should be informing GFCP--simply not updating the document? And is ESD not checking?

(Update: a variance for a 6 am start was granted on 5/17/22, as was one for Saturday work 9 am to 5:30 pm. Of course 5:30 pm is not 5 pm.)
