Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park FAQ, timeline, and infographics (pinned post)

For Quality of Life meeting tomorrow, the same big questions about the project. No notes yet from previous session.

Tomorrow night's Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Quality of Life meeting, just six weeks after the previous one, will be held online at 6 pm. (Details below.)

It raises the same questions, not likely to be answered:
  • plans to build the first phase of the two-block platform over the Vanderbilt Yard
  • plans to start the first tower over that railyard
  • plans to meet the 2025 affordable housing requirement plans to shift bulk from the unbuilt tower once planned to loom over the arena to Site 5, longtime home to Modell’s and P.C. Richard
That said, there has been drilling at the "bump" terra firma south of Atlantic Avenue jutting into the railyard between Sixth and Carlton avenues (see photo at right), which suggests plans to build those first railyard towers.

And the MTA says that payments for railyard development rights have proceeded.

There's no agenda yet for the meeting, but those agendas are typically meaningless. (Updated: the agenda was circulated at 2:39 pm. See below.)

Questions and agenda items can be sent to atlanticyards@esd.ny.gov. (One looming question: will such online-only meetings, which diminish transparency, be phased out for hybrid or in-person meetings, given changes in COVID policy.)
