Yes, Nets/Barclays in the running for online sports betting

Two "platform providers" for online sports betting in New York State should be chosen by December, with a launch two months later, and it looks like the owners of the Brooklyn Nets and the Barclays Center operating company are very much in the running, if not the leading bid.

The "Super Bid" involving FanDuel, DraftKings and BetMGM--the three largest online sports betting operators in the country--may be the favorite,  according to PlayNY

The next most prominent group of national brands includes Caesars, Resorts World, PointsBet, BetRivers, and WynnBet, according to Action Network. But don't count out RocNation, given the prominence of Jay-Z and the creative marketing of the Yormark twins.

Though the "Super Bid" tax rate was reported, those tax rates "were not released publicly with the initial bid list Monday evening," according to Action Network.

I wrote in February how the Brooklyn Events Center, which operates the Barclays Center, was lobbying in Albany, as was Madison Square Garden.
