Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park FAQ, timeline, and infographics (pinned post)

OK, project sites have upcoming After-Hours Variances for weekday work from 5 am to 10 pm. (Sunday, too.) Let's see if they're on the next Construction Update.

I've written multiple times about how the biweekly Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Updates, supposed to alert residents to the upcoming scope of work, misdescribe the After-Hours Variances (AHVs) granted by the NYC Department of Buildings at certain construction sites.

That means a relative minimization of the AHVs, which, at the B4 (18 Sixth Ave.) tower for example, have stretched from 5 am to 10 pm on weekdays, rather than 6 am to 9 pm, as stated on the Construction Update.

For B15 (662 Pacific St., or 37 Sixth Ave.), the Construction Update has claimed a weekday AHV until 9 pm, not 10 pm as allowed, and ignored AHVs for Sunday work.

(Note: though the developer has stated that there's little or no noisy work in the morning, and the variances allow workers to arrive in a socially distanced way, that doesn't excuse the failure to acknowledge the scope of the AHVs.)

So this week let's get ahead of the next Construction Update, which is due on Friday, and establish some upcoming AHVs.

B4 has an AHV allowing a 5 am weekday start.

B4 has an AHV allowing weekday work until 10 pm.

B15 has an AHV allowing weekday work until 10 pm.

B15 has an AHV allowing work on Sundays, including this Sunday and the next one.
