The ACC tourney, over five days: big police presence; many buses on Thursday/Friday

Today, Barclays Center began hosting the five-day Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) Men’s Basketball Tournament. As stated in the notice at right, there will be a significant police presence and many vehicles.

"There will be a large volume of buses directed to Brooklyn Cruise Terminal," the notice states. "Please note that there may be a more noticeable bus presence around the arena on the games on Thursday and Friday due to the high seed basketball teams competing." No numbers were offered, so it could be a lot.

"There will be deployments of Barclays Center Guest Relations, Pedestrian Traffic Managers and NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents (TEAs) outside the building to assist with traffic and vehicular congestion, enforce illegal parking rules in the neighborhood, ensure pedestrian safety, and for general event management."

The schedule, as shown below, involves games at 12 noon, 2 pm, 7 pm, and 9 pm today and tomorrow, with two games Friday evening and one on Saturday.
