Tonight's Barclays Center boxing event: "significant police presence," "significant number of vehicles" expected
OK, now we know what the "expected exterior impacts" are for tonight's boxing card at the Barclays Center. According to a message circulated this morning:
There will be a significant police presence in the area to assist with event management on event day. Security and crowd control measures will be introduced and directed (in coordination with NYPD) as needed.
While public transportation will be used (and encouraged), a significant number of vehicles servicing guests, talent and event staff on the arena block is to be expected.
There will be full deployments of Barclays Center Guest Relations, Pedestrian Traffic Managers and NYPD Traffic Enforcement Agents (TEAs) outside the building to assist with traffic and general event management.
General information posted to Barclays Center social media accounts (@barclayscenter).
