Redistricted maps: AD 44 (Carroll) will contain most of Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park. AD 52 (Simon) retains Site 5. SD 25 (Brisport) revised, but keeps project site.
Thanks to recently passed redistricting (and barring a legal challenge, the Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park site will next year be represented, in the main, by a new Assemblymember.
The current district lines show that nearly all the project site, except for Site 5 across Flatbush Avenue (also bounded by Fourth Avenue, Atlantic Avenue, and Pacific Street), is represented by 57th District Assemblymember Phara Souffrant Forrest, who succeeded Walter Mosley and Hakeem Jeffries.Assemblymember Jo Anne Simon, of the 52nd District, represents Site 5.
But keep your eye on the 44th District, which extends into Park Slope, represented by Robert (Bobby) Carroll.
Under the redistricting, the 57th District boundaries move north, across Atlantic Avenue, and Carroll's 44th District includes most but not all of Prospect Heights. In the state Senate
There are new district lines in the State Senate, but not affecting Atlantic Yards.
The site is currently represented by Sen. Jabari Brisport of the 25th District.
Part of Prospect Heights is in Sen. Zellnor Myrie's 20th District, while part of Park Slope is in Sen. Kevin Parker's 21st District.
Under redistricting, as shown in the map below, Brisport's 25th District retains Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park, though he loses some territory to the west.
Myrie's 20th District will get a larger, more contiguous piece of Park Slope.
And while the source I used suggested that the 26th District (Sen. Brian Kavanagh) would represent Gowanus and Boerum Hill just west of the project site, blocks currently repped by Brisport, that's not so, according to Simon; it will be Sen. Andrew Gounardes.
Some Senate numbers will be changing. What is shown as SD 26 on your new map will be represented by @agounardes (assuming re-election) Sen. Kavanagh’s district will be wholly in Manhattan.
