Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park infographics: what's built/what's coming/what's missing, who's responsible, + project FAQ/timeline (pinned post)

From the latest Construction Update: B15 (662 Pacific) is "substantially complete"; B4 (18 Sixth) exterior done; crane jump next weekend on Dean St.

The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, Oct. 18, was circulated Friday Oct. 15 at 5:39 pm (lead time) by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners.

There were several changes freom the previous update.

B15 (662 Pacific Street)

Interior & exterior construction of the building is substantially complete. The hoist run is being enclosed and permanent sidewalk work has been initiated. Project completion is anticipated by the end of December 2021.

Note that, despite substantial completion and marketing of residential units, the affordable housing lottery hasn't launched.

B4 (18 Sixth Avenue)

The exterior façade of the building is substantially complete. The hoist disassembly will begin in late 2021 and the façade completed at that time.

Interior construction of the residential units continues. The first Temporary Certificate of Occupancy (TCO) is anticipated in the 4th quarter. Interior construction will continue as the trades move up the building.

Permanent sidewalk work has been initiated along Sixth Avenue.

B12 & B13 (615 Dean St. and 595 Dean St.)

Crane Jump for the West Tower scheduled for the weekend of October 23rd. (It's unclear whether this is a re-scheduled crane jump from September, when it was previously announced, or a successor action. They should explain.) Staging of trucks and equipment will occur on Pacific St. with no impact to traffic on Dean St. In the event of inclement weather, the Crane Jump may be performed during the following weekend or during a weeknight. Working hours would be from 6 pm to midnight during the week and 7 a, to 3 pm during the weekend.

Interior concrete masonry unit and exterior back-up concrete masonry unit work on-going throughout the project.

Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and Electrical work on-going throughout the project including installation of condenser water risers and distribution piping, storm sanitary and copper risers and distribution piping, sprinkler risers and branch piping as well electrical feeder risers, branch circuitry and panels including low voltage wiring for fire alarm, security, etc. Ductwork installation including risers and distribution ductwork continues throughout the project.

Con Ed--as predicted in the previous update--may be on site to install interconnection feeder cables between vaults. Parking on Dean St. in front of the East Vault may be reduced by approximately five to six parking spaces while Con Ed completes this work.

Verizon/RCN may start installation of telecom conduits along Dean St. into the buildings during the week of October 18. Work may take 5 to 7 working days to complete and may reduce parking by 4 – 6 spaces along Dean St. No parking signs will be posted at least 48 hours in advance of the work. Pedestrian access to Dean St. will not be impacted.

After-hours work continues

Regarding after-hours work at B4 (18 Sixth Ave.), the Construction Update accurately lists weekday work 5 am to 10 pm, Saturday work 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday work 9 am to 5 pm.

Regarding after-hours work at B15 (662 Pacific St.), the document accurately cites weekday work 6 am to 10 pm, Saturday work 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday work 9 am to 5 pm.

Regarding after-hours work at B12 & B13, the document accurately states weekday work hours are 6 am to 6 pm. It also says "Saturday work from 9 AM – 5 PM will continue during this reporting period," though no permit for next Saturday has been issued yet.

Yesterday's permit was from 9 am to 5:30 pm, as was the previous Saturday. The previous Construction Update, however, said 9 am to 5 pm. A small difference, but not unimportant. They take what they can get.

Remember, such after-hours work allows the developers to meet their schedule. That takes priority over neighborhood impacts.
