Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park infographics: what's built/what's coming/what's missing, who's responsible, + project FAQ/timeline (pinned post)

Belated meeting of Atlantic Yards CDC finally set for March 15; opportunity to learn more about timetable?

The Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Quality of Life meeting held last night--with six weeks since the previous meeting, rather than two months--was mostly uneventful, with only minor progress reported and no major revelations.

(I'll write separately about the lingering questions regarding the 2025 deadline to build 2,250 units of affordable housing and the still-murky plans for Site 5.)

But the bigger news to emerge yesterday was that, after more than one year since its last meeting, the board of the advisory Atlantic Yards Community Development Corporation (AY CDC)--supposed to meet quarterly--will meet Friday, March 15, 2019 at 1 pm.

The AY CDC, required as part of a 2014 settlement that also set that affordable housing deadline, has been mostly toothless, I've contended, but also can inject some transparency into the project, such as asking developer Forest City Partners questions about the timetable for not just the affordable housing but the entire project.

In January 2018, a GFCP rep was asked by an AY CDC member for a project map, with a timetable for each building, thus updating a previous project map. That was supposed to arrive late last year, but never did.

The AY CDC is supposed to have 14 members, but there are four vacancies, we were told last night. (The web site lists only nine names.) The difficulty in getting a quorum has been cited multiple times as the reason for delays in meetings (or their postponement).

Location, webcast, RSVP

The location is not Brooklyn, the site for some but not all previous meetings of the AY CDC, but rather the Manhattan office of the state authority that is its parent:
Empire State Development
633 Third Avenue - 37th Floor Conference Room
New York, NY 10017
This meeting is open to the public, and will be webcast. Due to building procedures, those attending should please RSVP by 5 pm on Thursday, March 14, 2019. RSVP press line (800) 260-7313; RSVP public line (212) 803-3766.
