According to an announcement (below) issued yesterday, Dean Street between Flatbush and Sixth Avenues will be closed from 9 am to 3 pm next Monday through Friday, beginning Sept. 9, so Con Edison can install electrical service for the B2 tower under construction.
That was hinted at, though not fully. In the official two-week
Atlantic Yards Construction Alert issued earlier in the week, Empire State Development, channeling developer Forest City, said:
We have not been advised by Con Edison regarding the duration, but it is anticipated to take 2-3 days to complete their work. We are assuming that Dean Street may have to be closed between 6th and Flatbush for a portion of time to complete their work.
