Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park FAQ, timeline, and infographics (pinned post)

Welcome, trucks, to "Carlton Street" and "Pacific Avenue"

If Atlantic Yards is all about Brooklyn (despite, say, the role of a Russian billionaire and a British bank), then you'd think Forest City Ratner, the Brooklyn-based arm of Cleveland-based Forest City Enterprises, would try to get the local details right.

However, as the photo by Tracy Collins shows, whoever prepared the "arena trucking rules"--rules that, by the way, have not always been followed--seems to think there are blocks called "Carlton Street" and "Pacific Avenue."

The sign is placed at the corner of Pacific Street and Vanderbilt Avenue and is aimed at drivers turning west on Pacific, whereupon they are supposed to queue up to Carlton (where there's a light), then go one long block (past the residential Newswalk building) to Sixth Avenue (where there's a light), and then to the arena site.
