At the hearing this week on Phase 2 of Atlantic Yards, allies of project developer Forest City Ratner urged that any roadblocks--i.e., public process--be removed.

Wary neighborhood residents pointed out how arena construction and operations, while not part of the scope for the Draft Supplementary Environmental Statement, led them to be wary of the performance by Forest City Ratner and the oversight by Empire State Development, which has the inherently contradictory role of promoting economic development while overseeing such projects.

Well, check out the photos and video posted on Atlantic Yards Watch, showing tractor-trailers for the three-night engagement of Swedish House Mafia beginning tonight, idling on Sixth Avenue and Dean Street in Prospect Heights, both next to and on the sidewalk, adjacent to and across the street from residences.
