From the latest Construction Update: work to restore Atlantic Avenue median, at Vanderbilt (plus ongoing Saturday work)

The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, July 8, was circulated at 1:36 pm yesterday (late) by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners.

There are few contrasts from the previous update. The main one is that the Atlantic Avenue median at the Vanderbilt Avenue intersection will be restored, and all temporary construction MPT (maintenance and protection of traffic) devices will be removed. No time frame was given.

Also, though not marked as new, this text has been repeated from the previous update: "Contractor to install of 6th Avenue Stair Tower structural steel frame." That suggests either sloppy editing or a delay.

At 535 Carlton, aka B14, a rig is being used for minor repairs. Previously, a scaffold was being used.

After hours work continued

Saturday work at the railyard will continue, as well Saturday work work 9 am to 5 pm at the B4 and B15 sites, through the rest of the calendar year. (After that, will it continue? I wouldn't bet against it.)

Also at the railyard, a second shift is expected to excavate and install necessary TMSC (train toilet servicing clean-outs) between 6 pm and 3 am pending LIRR support availability.
