As Samsung event at Barclays Center approaches, load-in means "no stopping anytime" (yeah, sure)

It looks like the big Samsung Galaxy Note reveal Aug. 7 at Barclays Center began its load-in yesterday.

Several streets, notably Dean Street between Fifth and Flatbush and Flatbush and Sixth avenues, were marked "No Stopping Anytime, 7/31/-8/8," though tractor-trailers were indeed waiting along the latter segment of Dean to enter the arena.

(Maybe, one reader said, the "No Stopping" was directed at every vehicle except those loading-in.)

See photo below. I spent about 20 minutes opposite the arena on Dean Street and saw multiple trucks arrive.

Heavy security

According to this tweet from Timothy J. Burke last week, "Barclays Center on heavy security for the big Samsung event next month," a memo to staff indicated that the arena would be "hosting a high profile private event" on August 7.

Security will be elevated "throughout the entire load-in/load-out process, as well as the event day, it said. (I queried the arena about the trucks I saw yesterday, but didn't hear back.)

The "restricted venue protocol" was to be July 31 through Aug. 2, then Aug. 4 through Aug. 7. On Aug. 3 there's a boxing match.
