Barclays Center releases October 2025 event calendar: nine ticketed events, including the Brooklyn Nets' home opener Oct. 24
The Barclays Center today circulated its October 2025 event calendar to neighbors, announcing at least 15 ticketed events, including five concerts, three Brooklyn Nets games (one of them pre-season), and one boxing show.
Surely they were hoping to fill a few dates with a WNBA Finals appearance by the New York Liberty, who won the title last year and hosted one Semi-Finals game and three Finals games in October 2024.
Note that nothing extra is announced for the Brooklyn Nets' Oct. 24 home-opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers, but last year, prior to the Nets' home-opener against the Milwaukee Bucks, there was "an event on the Plaza from 11 am-6 pm with amplified sound."
(The Nets open the season on Oct. 22 in Charlotte.)
Pre-season protest?
The pre-season game this Saturday against Hapoel ‘Bank Yahav’ Jerusalem may seem aimed at capitalizing on a Nets' lineup that includes Israeli Ben Saraf and American Danny Wolf, who has also played for Israeli's national team, "but NBA preseason games are set up months in advance so it’s unlikely the draft selections had anything to do with the preseason schedule or vice-versa," to quote NetsDaily.
Beyond attracting fans focused on Israel, "it’s near certain that the game will attract protests over Israel’s war in Gaza, which has been described as a genocide by a widening range of national and world political leaders," NetsDaily noted.
Three private events
There are also three non-specified private events.
The line-ups for Oct. 3 and Oct. 9 are unclear, but the Oct. 26 event is a Charity Auction dinner at the arena's Crown Club, held by "The Roots Fund, a nonprofit dedicated to empowering underrepresented communities in the wine and spirits industry."
October 2024
As I wrote, the arena's October 2024 event calendar to neighbors announced at least 15 ticketed events.
