Barclays Center releases August 2026 event calendar: 12 ticketed events, plus one free one: Angela Yee Day on Ticketmaster Plaza Aug. 23
The Barclays Center yesterday (late) released its August 2026 event calendar to community members. It includes 12 ticketed events: seven New York Liberty games and five concerts.
Angela Yee Day
Also, the free annual Angela Yee Day, the "block party" hosted by the radio personality, will be held on Sunday, August 12, from noon to 5 pm, though the Community Notice (above) suggests that amplified sound will start at 6 am. (Sound checks at 6 am on the day of rest?)

Note that, while it's not mentioned on Power 105.1's announcement on Threads (or the image above), the radio station's announcement on Facebook states that the event, as in past years, is "in partnership with The Social Justice Fund," i.e., the arm of the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation, the charitable platform for the owners of the Brooklyn Nets and the arena company. (More coverage of the Social Justice Fund.)
The event involves: live performances and music; free hair braiding; games and giveaways; and local community activities
It's sponsored by US Virgin Islands, with additional support from LifeVac USA, MetroPlusHealth, US Army Recruiting NYC, and Mesidor PLLC, CareRite Centers & more.
My guess is that the Social Justice Fund's partnership role is mainly to supply the venue, absorbing the cost of renting Ticketmaster Plaza and calculating that as part of the SJF's $5 million in annual community support, leading to a $25 million total I find suspect.
Also, the four youth mentorship organizations, which recently received $25,000 each from the SJF, will be honored at the event, according to the Brooklyn Paper.
The arena's August calendar includes an unspecified private event on Aug. 31. The arena operators used to specify such events.
August 2025
August 2025 had a similar volume of ticketed events, though more free ones: 12 ticketed events, including six New York Liberty games, five concerts, and one wrestling show.
Those concerts included two nights of the inaugural Planet Brooklyn festival, which is shared with events at the Brooklyn Paramount, Brooklyn Academy of Music, and nearby block parties.
So it doesn't look like the Planet Brooklyn festival will be annual, at least in August.
