BSE Global, parent of the Brooklyn Nets and arena company, reports positive community impacts, with the help of sponsors

As announced in an Oct. 13, 2023 press release, MAXSIP BECOMES PROUD COMMUNITY PARTNER OF BROOKLYN NETS:
Maxsip Telecom, a New York based telecommunications company that provides affordable and accessible communications services, has been named an official partner of the Brooklyn Nets. Maxsip Telecom offers mobile and broadband internet access to families on government assistance covered by the Affordable Connectivity Program (ACP). By joining with the Nets, Maxsip will be able to reach even more qualified recipients through the team's numerous community engagement programs.

"We are thrilled to welcome Maxsip to the Brooklyn Nets family," said Catherine Carlson, executive vice president of global partnerships at BSE Global, parent company of the Brooklyn Nets, New York Liberty and Barclays Center. "Maxsip's commitment to bridge the digital divide through free and low-cost internet services aligns with our commitment to better the lives of those in our surrounding communities. We are excited to work with Maxsip to reach even more Brooklynites through our extensive community engagement programs."

As part of the partnership Maxsip Telecom is supporting community engagement events hosted by the Brooklyn Nets across Brooklyn, New York City and beyond. Maxsip will serve as the presenting sponsor of the season of giving holiday event at the Barclays Center which brings holiday cheer to families who may not have the means to celebrate the holiday season. 
In other words, Maxsip is (apparently) paying to have its name and logo attached to various community endeavors, thanks, indirectly, to taxpayer funding of its efforts.

And that's why its logo appears in periodic email reports from BSE Global, the parent company of the Brooklyn Nets, Barclays Center operating company, and affiliated brands, regarding social impact reports.

Giving back

From the Q1 2024 letter:
BSE Global is committed to giving back and positively impacting surrounding communities through various initiatives and programs. In the first quarter of 2024, we impacted thousands of people in Brooklyn, across New York City, and on Long Island through programs focused on youth and career development, STEM and financial literacy education, female empowerment, basketball, and social justice.
That sounds very civic-minded, and surely the programs are appreciated.

But it's worth remembering that, for example, the arena site is tax-exempt, saving the operator tens of a millions of dollars, as payments in lieu of taxes, or PILOTs, are used to pay off construction bonds.

With the help of sponsors

It's also worth noting that a good number of the initiatives and programs, starting with the email newsletter itself, come with sponsors who shoulder some/all (?) of the costs in exchange for gaining access to the BSE Global mailing list and "platform" for promotion.
