Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park FAQ, timeline, and infographics (pinned post)

From the latest Construction Update: platform work still supposed to start soon, pending permits. (B5 tower needs to start by June 15, too.)

The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, May 30 (or maybe the next day, if they're taking Memorial Day off), was circulated Friday at 2:21 pm (lead time) by Empire State Development after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners, which is dominated by Greenland USA.

There's no new work--hence nothing in red type in the document below, though apparently the Atlantic Avenue permanent sidewalk outside the B4 tower has been installed, since it's no longer listed as ongoing work.

But the essential message remains hurry up and wait, as I wrote two weeks ago. Though four weeks ago I wrote ago that work on the Block 1120 platform--between Atlantic Avenue and Pacific Street, and Carlton and Vanderbilt avenues--was supposed to start within the two-week period, that was subject to the receipt of necessary permits.

And the new document similarly says that such work would start, subject to permits. We learned at a North Prospect Heights Association meeting that the work won't start until June.

Well, June is approaching, as is the June 15 deadline to install foundations in order for the B5 tower to take advantage of the current 421-a tax break. There's no specific mention of B5, aka 700 Atlantic Avenue, in the document, though.

Utility work pending/continuing

Also, utility work is both continuing and pending at the southeast block of the site. As previously predicted multiple times, Con Ed may be on site to install interconnection feeder cables between vaults.

RCN is yet again expected to pull new fiber optic cables on Dean Street, but the exact start time / date and duration for this work has not yet been confirmed

After-hours work continues; some claims fuzzy

Regarding after-hours work at B4 (18 Sixth Ave.), the Construction Update accurately lists weekday work 5 am to 10 pm. Saturday work is listed accurately as 9 am to 5 pm. Sunday work can be the same hours, but there are no after-hours variances yet.

Regarding after-hours work at B12 & B13 on the southeast block, the document accurately says there's variance for work to start at 6 am. It also says "Saturday work from 9 AM – 5 PM will continue."

There are no current variances for Saturday work listed, but the most recent one, on 5/21/22, continued a pattern: it was for work until 5:30 pm, not 5 pm.
