So, has de Blasio pushed the Atlantic Yards developer "to deliver on his promise for more affordable housing"? Nah. (Updated)

From Capital New York, De Blasio, running as the anti-Bloomberg, leads with Dante:
Bill de Blasio is going up on television with an ad featuring his 15-year-old son, Dante, who says his father is the only candidate with the "guts to really break from the Bloomberg years" and the only one who "will end a stop-and-frisk era that unfairly targets people of color."
De Blasio's campaign has been pitching itself as the choice for voters who want to summarily reject the Bloomberg administration after three terms of a mayor who never embraced the role as empathizer-in-chief of the city.
...Substantively, the changeover from Bloomberg to de Blasio would be less radical, in many ways, than it's cracked up (by de Blasio and Bloomberg) to be.
He would keep mayoral control of schools, although modified to include more parental input. Both Bloomberg and de Blasio supported the Atlantic Yards development, with de Blasio pushing the developer to deliver on his promise for more affordable housing.
My comment:
While de Blasio has, when pressed, expressed disappointment with Atlantic Yards, it's inaccurate to say he "pushing the [Atlantic Yards] developer [Forest City Ratner] to deliver on his promise for more affordable housing."
What press conference? What press release? What testimony at the public hearing earlier this year? He hasn't even commented on Forest City's failure to hire the promised Independent Compliance monitor for the Atlantic Yards Community Benefits Agreement.
Why? Likely because de Blasio owes supporters like Bertha Lewis (ex-ACORN, Forest City Ratner's housing partner) and the Working Families Party, and because he got/expected campaign cash from developer Bruce Ratner and associates.

Capital New York Azi Paybarah did find a clip in which de Blasio responded to a question about affordable housing:
Here's a clip from a de Blasio press conference on April 25 at which he unveiled his affordable housing plan, where I asked him about the Atlantic Yards project, the affordable housing that was supposed to go with it, and where it went wrong.

My response:
"I think government has to hold the developer's feet to the fire to get it done, and on a real timeline."

That's rhetoric.

Yeah, he said this at a press conference, where he was challenged by the press.

When Forest City Ratner delayed the plan, he said nothing. When a lawsuit was filed challenging the 25-year buildout (as opposed to the original 10 years), he said nothing.

When a state judge ordered review of the second phase of the project, leading to a public hearing presaging a Supplementary Environmental Impact Statement, critics asked the the site be divided up and bid out to multiple developers, or that the original 10-year timeline be enforced. de Blasio said nothing.

I stand by my statements.
