From the latest Construction Alert: overnight foundation pours Oct. 18 and Oct. 25, Community Liaison Office moves to 550 Vanderbilt
The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning tomorrow, Monday, Oct. 14, was circulated Friday at 6:23 pm (lead time) by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners.
As in the previous update, they're announcing disruptive overnight work, albeit this time with at least one week of lead time.
For B15 (664 Pacific) foundation concrete work is scheduled for Friday, October 18 in the evening through Saturday, October 19. For B4 (18 Sixth), foundation concrete work is scheduled for Friday, October 25 in the evening through Saturday, October 26.
For both, work will begin at approximately 10 pm Friday night and will likely run all day until Saturday evening. In both cases, concrete trucks will be staged on Atlantic Avenue before entering the site. Trucks will then move to the Pacific Street queue area for truck washout measures before departure.
Will that "Pacific Street queue area" spill over into the adjacent B12 site, despite a lack of notice (as has occurred before)?
Relocated Community Liaison Office (CLO)
As indicated at the most recent Quality of Life meeting, the Community Liaison Office has been relocated to the 550 Vanderbilt Avenue tower, with entrance on Pacific Street.
The CLO’s hours are M-F from 9am – 4pm and can be reached by phone at 866-923-5315 and by email at communityliaison@pacificparkbrooklyn.com. This is not, of course, a 24-hour hotline, which could be useful.
After-hours work continues
Excavation work is expected to continue on Saturday at the B15 and B4 sites from 9 am through 5 pm, through the end of the year.
At the Vanderbilt Yard, "Contractor plans to work second shift to excavate and install necessary TMSC (train toilet servicing cleanouts) between 6 pm and 6 am," [updated] according to the notice. That's an extension from ending at 3 am, as was the previous plan.
Saturday daytime electrical utility installations, site restoration, and work that requires LIRR track outages are expected to continue in the railyard.
At the railyard, the LIRR may be utilizing portions of the yard lighting for security reasons. That's "expected to continue for the next several weeks." That could continue for a while.
