From the latest Construction Update: a planned weekend (when?) East Tower Crane Jump on Dean Street; FDNY testing "will continue" at B4/B15 (but not previously mentioned). Perplexing.
The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, Aug. 23, was circulated Thursday Aug. 19 at 5:08 pm (lead time) by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners.
It's a perplexing document. Regarding the B15 (662 Pacific St.) and B4 (18 Sixth Ave.) towers, it states, "FDNY required fan testing of building systems will continue during this reporting period."
That is highlighted in red, indicating new information. However, the use of "will continue" suggests that this work had already started. Yesterday morning, I queried ESD and Greenland: when did it start, and why was it not mentioned in the previous Construction Alert? No response.
I also noted that some neighbors have reported loud buzzing from buildings. Is that related to the fan testing? If so, how often does this testing occur, and can neighbors be alerted more specifically to its timing? Again, no response.
Regarding the B12/B13 towers (615 Dean St. & 595 Dean St.), the document states, "East Tower Crane Jump will occur over the weekend."
Which weekend does this refer to? No answer.

After-hours work continues
Regarding after-hours work at B4 (18 Sixth Ave.), the Construction Update accurately lists weekday work 5 am to 10 pm and Saturday work 9 am to 5 pm. It states that there can be Sunday work 9 am to 5 pm, but no permits are listed yet.
Regarding after-hours work at B15 (662 Pacific St.), the document accurately cites weekday work 6 am to 10 pm and Saturday 9 am to 5 pm, and Sunday work 9 am to 5 pm.
Regarding after-hours work at B12 & B13, the document accurately states weekday work hours are 6 am to 6 pm. It also says Saturday work can be from 9 am to 5 pm, though no permit has been issued yet.
Remember, such after-hours work allows the developers to meet their schedule. That takes priority over neighborhood impacts.
Other new work
According to the document, at B12/B13, installation of East Tower Hoist and Loading dock complex continues, but the West Tower Hoist and Loading dock complex will begin installation within the two-week period.
For the East Tower Crane Jump, which occurs over an unspecified weekend, staging of trucks and equipment will occur on Pacific Street with no impact to traffic on Dean Street.
