Barclays Center holds fan-less Nets pre-season game, first event after pandemic; a look at the plaza and Dean Street entrance, both cordoned off

Photos exclusive to AY/PP Report

Well, the Brooklyn Nets played (and, with Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, won) their first pre-season game last night, reopening the Barclays Center to fan-less events nine months after closing for the coronavirus pandemic, and it was, unsurprisingly, a very different scene.

As indicated in the photos, access to the Barclays Center plaza was truncated, as if protests were still expected, and a very bright "Nets Warriors" digital sign blared above the entrance doors.

(That is the new digital signage from ClearLED that, at least on certain settings, has disturbed neighbors, and apparently has been toned down.)

Scroll down for more photos of the plaza, as well as video the scene on the south perimeter of the arena, along Dean Street.

Along Dean Street

As the video below shows, the entry to the arena was sealed off along Dean Street, and two large buses were parked. My bet is those buses were for game personnel, while any team buses or vehicles entered the loading dock and were elevatored to event level. There are several high-end vehicles parked on "the pad."
