The latest Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park Construction Update (bottom), covering the two weeks beginning Monday, April 1, was circulated at 10:15 am yesterday (late) by Empire State Development (ESD) after preparation by Greenland Forest City Partners.
There's not much new from the previous update, but the new document is confounding in a few places, indicating, in red type, new work that in some cases is not actually new or is said to "continue" after not being previously announced.
Work at the railyard
At the Vanderbilt Yard, Blocks 1120 & 1121, the following work was marked as new, but also said to "continue," which implies it had already started, without being announced in a previous update:
Similarly, description of demolition at Block 1120, the two buildings that "bump" into the railyard from Atlantic Avenue east of Sixth Avenue, is confusing, because some text is marked as new but was in the previous alert:
One example of updated information involves excavation and foundation construction work at the B15 site, between Dean and Pacific streets just opposite the arena block.
While the work was announced in the previous update, the additional text "Appropriate dust and noise mitigation measures are in place" is new.
