From the latest Construction Alert: still some punch list work at arena and environs

There's still work going on to finish the Barclays Center, as detailed in the lastest two-week Construction Alert, dated 10/8/12 and issued yesterday by Empire State Development after preparation by Forest City Ratner:
• Façade and glass panels will continue to be installed/ replaced during this period as needed.
• Mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection punch list will be performed during this reporting period.
• The masonry, gypsum board and millwork contractors will continue working on punch list activities and change order activities at all levels during this reporting period.
• Activities related to the installation of the arena blackout curtains and the high ceiling lapidaries (noise dampening) curtains will continue this reporting period.
Also, punch list work continues at the Carlton Avenue Bridge, and may require night time or weekend work. Similarly, punch list work remains at the north part of the Vanderbil Yard, where the Long Island Rail Road has begun operations.

At the parking lot at the southeast block of the site,, there's still work on the perimeter fence to be finished.

The city Department of Transportation will be milling paving and permanent striping of Atlantic Avenue, between 6th Avenue and Vanderbilt. Also, a new traffic and lighting conduit will be installed across 6th Avenue between Dean and Bergen Streets, replacing a damaged conduit.

At the arena site, minor work, including wayfinding directories, painting, and pavement markings will be completed.
