CBRE buys 35% stake in workspace provider Industrious, which has outpost on Dean Street, across from B12/B13 site

A 2/22/21 press release, CBRE Group, Inc. Acquires 35 Percent Interest in Industrious, Leading Provider of Flexible Space Solutions, adding that the "worldā€™s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm," which is headquartered in Dallas, is expecting to acquire another 5% in the coming weeks.

The deal includes $200 million in cash and the transfer of CBRE's own "flexible-space solutions offering, Hana," which has ten locations in the U.S. and UK. The Commercial Observer quoted Industrious CEO Jamie Hodari: "Almost every Fortune 500 [company] is putting in workplace plans that explicitly say theyā€™re going to massively increase their use of flex."

"Industrious has more than 100 locations in more than 50 U.S. cities and specializes in asset-lite flexible workplace operating models," according to the press release, which added:
The investment significantly increases CBREā€™s participation in the flexible workplace sector and positions the company to meet rising demand from occupiers for agile space solutions ā€” a trend that is being accelerated by the Covid-19 pandemic. Recent CBRE surveys show that 86% of its occupier clients, which include many of the worldā€™s largest global corporations, plan to incorporate flex office space in their real estate strategies, and 82% will favor buildings that offer a flex-office component.

One location is at 594 Dean Street in Prospect Heights, across from the western segment of the B12/B13 construction project, which includes two residential towers and a below-grade fitness center and fieldhouse from Chelsea Piers.

A desk at 594 Dean starts at $797/month and an office starts at $1,449. From the Industrious page for that site:
Our elegant space nestled between the brownstones of Prospect Park incorporates neighborhood charm, innovative design, and full-service amenities to foster a warm and welcoming environment. Just blocks from the Barclays Center and 10 subway Lines, the office is just as convenient as it is beautiful.
Unmentioned: there's construction across the street until 2023.
