Just in case you were wondering, the Maimonides Medical Center is the official partner of the Brooklyn Nets (and offers team physicians), while the Brooklyn Hospital Center is the official hospital of the Barclays Center arena.

The Brooklyn Hospital Center has entered into an exciting partnership with Barclays Center as its official Hometown Hospital.The Maimonides press release, 4/30/12:
“We are thrilled to be the official Hometown Hospital of Barclays Center, which is continuing the renaissance of downtown Brooklyn,” said hospital President and CEO Dr. Richard B. Becker. “Our partnership with Barclays Center will aim to keep Brooklyn healthy by providing a very visible and important platform to accomplish our goals.”
“The Brooklyn Hospital Center has been a Brooklyn institution for more than 160 years,” said Brett Yormark, CEO of Barclays Center. “We’re dedicated to teaming with the hospital in promoting health and wellness.”
One of the most exciting aspects of the sponsorship will be The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s Interactive Space located on the main concourse of Barclays Center. The Interactive Space will be open during arena events and feature entertaining, interactive health care information for the public.
The Brooklyn Hospital Center will also sponsor all Barclays Center promoted high-school-related events and host a BROOKLYN HOOPS™ basketball camp for 50 kids. In addition, TBHC will conduct health education and screenings, providing giveaways, activities, and valuable health tips for fans and athletes in conjunction with the Barclays Center Mobile Unit—The Experience— throughout the community, as well as at its annual health fair in Fort Greene Park and at the Barclays Center outdoor plaza.
Maimonides Medical Center announced today that it has entered into a partnership with the Brooklyn Nets, and is now the NBA team’s official hospital and team physicians.
The arrival of the Brooklyn Nets at the newly constructed Barclays Center marks the first time in over 50 years that Brooklyn has been home to a Major League sports franchise. Excitement has been building among Brooklyn’s 2.5 million residents, and the 6,000 employees of Maimonides Medical Center are among the most fervent new fans.
“Today is a great day for Brooklyn and Maimonides Medical Center as we begin our partnership with the Brooklyn Nets,” said Pamela Brier, President and CEO of Maimonides. “We are truly proud to be their official hospital and team physicians.”
To celebrate the partnership, the Brooklyn Nets donated official logo “onesies” to the Maimonides Payson Birthing Center. Every 2012 baby born at Maimonides, beginning April 30th, will go home representing Brooklyn’s new basketball home team. And since Maimonides delivers over 8,000 babies a year, that’s a significant number of new fans for the Brooklyn Nets!
The team physician role means that Maimonides Sports Medicine experts will provide physicals and be right alongside the Brooklyn Nets players during all home games.
“Our team of physicians is ready to support the Brooklyn Nets team at every level,” said Dr. Jack Choueka, Chair of Orthopedics at Maimonides Medical Center. “From immediate courtside care, through diagnosis and treatment of injuries and other illnesses, to sharing injury-prevention strategies, we have the expertise to keep Brooklyn’s new home team fit and competitive.”
