Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park infographics: what's built/what's coming/what's missing, who's responsible, + project FAQ/timeline (pinned post)

Spotted: cafe coming on Dean, "Stadium Convenience," "relatively low-rise" 550 Vanderbilt, 535 Carlton behind the fence

Today, a few photos from a walk around/near the Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park site yesterday.

At right, real estate office Terra CRG, it seems, is leasing a cafe in their newly renovated building on Dean Street opposite Block 1129, the southeast block of the project, where two buildings are rising and two more planned.

By establishing a beachhead on Dean Street , this commercial brokerage may be getting a leg up on other transactions near this zone of growth.

Terra CRG was not, as far as I can tell, involved in renting 604 Vanderbilt (between Prospect Place and St. Marks Avenue) to the new business known as Stadium Convenience. See photo below.

Shouldn't the new owners know that 1) the Barclay Center is an arena, not a stadium, and 2) there are convenience store far closer to the arena near Fifth and Sixth avenues?

Looking at construction

The 550 Vanderbilt condo tower is certainly rising, though it has three or four stories to go on its highest level.
Can this building, one of the smallest buildings in the project, really reinforce the notion, as per Forest City Ratner CEO MaryAnne Gilmartin,. that Atlantic Yards/Pacific Park is "about the beautiful landscape that is Brooklyn, the relative low-rise nature of the neighborhood"?

Of course construction sites can be messy, so this should be surprising. But this photo inside the fence of the 535 Carlton rental tower, below, does strike a contrast with some of the staged photos released by the Pacific Park developers.

This website now spends it time correcting the English of recent immigrants small business owners? Sad.

    1. Well, brave anonymous, I have no idea who runs the business.

I've "corrected the English" of various people regarding the arena/stadium distinction over the years. Yes, it may be pedantic--and Marty Markowitz was accused of the same thing--but it's a real distinction.

My name is Sean, I live on Dean Street.. I admire that you keep such close eye on the projects development, but when talking aboutthe name of a bodega, the distinction between an arena and a stadium is silly
