Barclays (Coke) vs. Beyoncé (Pepsi): brand confusion on Atlantic Avenue

Well, Beyoncé tore up the Barclays Center for three straight concerts starting last Saturday and one-upped husband Jay-Z, who famously took the subway to his final Barclays Center show, by riding her bike across the Brooklyn Bridge.

But this photo captures a scenario, on Atlantic Avenue opposite the Barclays Center, that surely caused some consternation inside the arena.

You see, Beyoncé shills for Pepsi--a choice that irked food writer Mark Bittman--and it sure looked like Pepsi was trying to ride her popularity near the concert venue.

The arena, on the other hand, is very much a Coke place. (Well, at least since it stopped being a Jones Soda place.)

Brand confusion!
